AVI Foodsystems is looking for an experienced Buyer at our Headquarters Service Center in Warren, OH. The responsibilities for this position include: * Ensure that supply agreements optimize total value and are in place for AVI's purchasing requirements * Negotiate prices on key materials and/or indirect goods and services * Measure suppliers' performance against continuous improvement standards; drive improvement; resolve service, delivery and/or quality issues * Schedule deliveries to optimize inventory levels, follow up on deliveries by communicating with suppliers, and negotiate with suppliers on consignment inventories and cost reduction initiatives * Create and issue purchase orders and order products for just-in-time delivery * Effectively manage perishable and non-perishable inventory to maximize availability and minimize waste * Analyze pricing, order history, cost savings and increases * Track vendor purchases * Source new products from existing and potential suppliers * Coordinate pricing and approved vendor information with other internal AVI departments * Maintain approved cost sheets with the Accounts Payable Department * Assist operations with sourcing for seasonal and limited time offer products * Audit compliance for vendor pr3ograms and order guides * Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study (Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Nutrition, Culinary Arts, Supply Chain) or 3 years of food service procurement experience * Experience with procurement strategies and inventory management * Demonstrated negotiation and problem solving skills * Strong analytical and decision-making skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook * Assertive, outgoing, professional demeanor * Excellent organizational, writing and communication skills * Previous Purchasing/Buying experience required * Proficient in Microsoft Office software; Word, PowerPoint and Excel requiredBenefits: AVI is proud of its team members and appreciates the hard work, loyalty and committed service they provide every day, which is why we offer the following: * A family culture and atmosphere * Competitive compensation * Health, dental, vision, and life insurance for full-time team members * 401(k) with generous company match * Paid vacations and holidays * Immense training and growth opportunitiesText AVI to 51893 to join our talent network and apply!
