The ideal candidate will handle complex legal issues for clients, requiring solid legal writing abilities, proficiency in law and motion proceedings, deposition skills, and the ability to conduct thorough legal research.Duties:Work daily with the litigation team to solve complex legal problems for clients.Draft persuasive legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.Participate in law and motion proceedings, including hearings and oral arguments.Prepare for, take, and defend depositions of parties and witnesses.Conduct comprehensive legal research using various resources.Propound and respond to discovery requests by procedural rules.Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients on case strategy and development.Manage multiple cases and prioritize workload effectively.Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the California State Bar and in good standing.2-5 years of experience in business litigation, with a strong understanding of civil litigation procedures.Bankruptcy experience would be advantageous.Highly motivated and responsible with a proactive approach to problem-solving.Creative thinker with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and the court.Skills:Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Adaptability to handle a diverse caseload and changing priorities.Commitment to professional growth and development.Certifications (if applicable):Certification in Bankruptcy Law (optional) The Sacramento office of this firm represents clients from every area of the state in matters involving water law, natural resources, municipal and public agency, public finance, education, construction, employment and labor, bankruptcy and creditors rights, and related litigation.
