Description:

The Building Engineer I is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, life safety and tenant requests as well as other tasks assigned by the Assistant Chief Engineer. Responsibilities: Ensure that all building systems are being operated safely, efficiently, and as originally intended. Systems to include HVAC, water treatment plants, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and fire/life safety. Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs to building systems and equipment. Assist Assistant Chief Engineer with data entry of building equipment and tasks, and scheduling of the Preventative Maintenance program. Complete all service requests in a timely manner. Self-initiate service requests as needed. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local codes and regulations. Work with vendors and contractors within the building. Trouble-shooting and repairs of building systems. Monitor all building systems. Respond to 24-hour emergency calls as required. Carry mobile phone as required for on-call duty. Maintain and control inventory as needed for cost effective operations. Prepare reports and documentation as required. Other duties as assigned.
