Whether you are an industry veteran or a just starting out, you can find it at Sinclair We are advancing the world of Broadcasting and we want YOU to join our winning team KSNV , located in Las Vegas, NV, is seeking a Broadcast Engineer This individual will be responsible for installing and maintaining video, audio, and other equipment associated with tv broadcasting. This includes server-based record and play-out systems, non-linear editors, production switchers, routing switchers, MPEG encoders, decoders, automation, news room computer systems, data networks, and broadcast transmission equipment. Assignments include: Provide the engineering design and assist with the building and installation of electronic systems/equipment as assigned Maintain and repair transmitters (AM, FM, TV, Microwave, Fiber, satellite, etc.), receivers, cameras, switchers, graphic systems, audio equipment, video tape systems, routers, automation/editing systems, intercoms, two-way radios, monitors and display systems Provide budget info to support the implementation of new systems Provide technical support to operational users Consult and communicate with engineering management and other engineers on technical issues as required Provide specific engineering signal flow diagrams for CAD documentation on all work performed on technical systems Perform all technical work to engineering standards and practices Other duties may be assigned Other Requirements and Requirements: Self-starter, able to work efficiently without direct supervision Be able to work efficiently with other departments receiving and communicating instructions via telephone or in person Be able to read and understand technical materials Able to set priorities under pressure of deadlines Hold a valid driver's license Must be flexible to accommodate shift changes including extended hours, weekends, and evenings An associate’s degree (AA) in electronics is preferred Min of 5 (5) years of broadcast background Working expertise of broadcast station operations Additional position summary: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and smell The employee must occasionally climb ladders to perform various assigned duties at heights Some walking on level and uneven surfaces periodically throughout the day, while carrying technical equipment Some reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting may be required to store materials and equipment throughout the work day Proper lifting techniques are required; must be able to maneuver items up to 50lbs This job requires frequent exposure to the outdoor climate and weather conditions Work Schedule The schedule of the position is full time (40 hours a week), occasional night and weekend work is expected and must be on-call This position will require to attend occasional off-site meetings during and after business hours Must be flexible to accommodate shift changes including extended hours, weekends, and evenings Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free Workplace LI-SP1
