If you answered yes; we think you’re going to like the opportunity we have below … Laradon is currently seeking a Behavior Line Staff/ Behavior Technician to join our team! The Behavior Technician will provide support for Laradon's Adult Residential and Day Programs in the development and training of individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in habilitative activities, behavioral skills development, basic living skills, and socialization skills with the primary goal of integrating them into the community and maximizing their full potential. How you will make a difference … Work one on one with adult clients in Laradon's day center Maintain regular and punctual attendance Train Direct Support Professionals (DSP’s) on different behavior plans that they will be implementing Conduct and monitor the plans from Board Certified Behavior Analysts and Behaviorists Implement and record adaptive and/or behavioral Individual Service and Support Plans (ISSPs and BISSPs), Safety Control Procedures, Rights Suspensions and other Restrictive Procedures. Promote communication skills, social skills, self-help skills, and play skills through Applied Behavior Analysis principles Teach, learn and interact with our clients to help them reach their highest potential Help facilitate opportunities in the community to be included in work exposure and experience, social activities and recreation leisure activities Prevention and management of crisis to provide a safe environment. Perform, or assist individuals served with personal hygiene (e.g., bathing, brushing teeth, shaving, nail clipping, dressing, bodily functions, and appearance) and basic domestic duties as needed (e.g., cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping). Help facilitate opportunities in the community to be included in work exposure and experience, social activities and recreation leisure activities. Discover and experiment with new behavioral approaches and regularly update staff on effectiveness of current techniques. Maintain effective communication and positive relationships with service recipients, families, staff, administration, case management, and other service providers What you need to know … Opportunity to earn your Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) at no cost to you if you don't already have it Specific physical requirements are necessary for the role Schedule: Based on 40 hour work week Mon – Fri Start Date: September 2021 Compensation: $17.00/hr - $18.50/hr (based on experience and education) Safety Care: All employees are required to provide physical behavior support which includes physical management (training provided upon hire); may be subject to aggressive and non-compliant behavior from special needs adults. Pre-Employment: Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and CBI/FBI Federal background check. What we’re looking for from you … Super star communicator – able to communicate and listen well with adults, staff, caretakers and the home host providers Brains – High School diploma or GED required, with excellent verbal and written communication skills (RBT credential and Bachelor’s degree preferred) Mindset – Compassionate, caring, energetic and flexible Passion and Understanding - Skills in crisis management, flexibility, patience, and ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions.
