Autonomous Nurse Practitioner Location: Troy, VA Shift hours: 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM, M-F Position Type: Full-Time Positions : 1 Pay rate (per hour): 1-4 years of experience $70.00 5-9 years of experience $74.15 10+ years of experience $78.30 Infirmary assignment $87.00 Deadline: ASAP Company Overview: Our client is seeking an Autonomous Nurse Practitioner for a correctional facility. This position involves minimal supervision from physicians and will be assigned to the infirmary. Position Summary: The successful candidate must hold an advanced certification and/or license as a Certified Nurse Practitioner and have relevant experience working autonomously in any setting. Responsibilities: Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures, orders and performs diagnostic procedures, and prescribes controlled substances and devices in accordance with current regulations. Works independently with minimal supervision providing diagnosis and treatment according to protocol. Work Conditions: Contacts are made with patients in the provision of care and more limited contact with physicians for their consultation. The limited availability of physician oversight increases the consequence of error. Work significantly affects the health of patients due to higher level of independence. Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 hour shifts. Qualifications: Certification as a Nurse Practitioner to practice in the state of Virginia and/or other states and territories. At least 1 year of experience as an autonomous nurse practitioner in any setting. Experience in a similar setting preferred
