Stack Teck supplies a wide range of injection molds and IML automation used to produce plastic parts in applications such as caps, closures, medical, PET preforms, and thinwall packaging; as well as complete system integrations including IML. Stack Teck recently invested in new capacity to facilitate customer projects for In Mold Labeling (IML) and other packaging applications. This new Stack Teck facility is dedicated for automation, robotics engineering, assembly, test and injection molding systems integration. This 13,000 sq. ft. new facility is a 15 minute drive from the main Stack Teck mold manufacturing facility near Toronto International Airport. SUMMARY: The position of an assembly and test technician will have several responsibilities. The primary focus is to assemble custom robotic equipment for the plastics industry. This includes mechanical, pneumatic systems, and with emphasis on electrical cable routing and panel building. Moreover, this technician will perform factory acceptance tests on the machinery prior to shipping. The candidate may also be required to travel to customer sites to help setup, integrate, troubleshoot, support and maintain these systems. Travel is mainly but not exclusive to the U. S. A, and South America. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Work closely with the Automation Controls and Mechanical Design teams to assemble, test, support, and service automation cells in the plastics injection molding industry. Assembly of automation cells include: mechanical, electrical, electrical panels, and pneumatic components Able to troubleshoot and diagnose electromechanical systems, such as servo drives/motors, PLCs, pneumatics, and static chargers/eliminators.
