We provide compassionate and caring euthanasia in the comfort of the family's home. It is an incredibly special niche that is fulfilling and enriching for the right personality of veterinarian. Dr. Annie Forslund started this service in 2009 and was one of the very first in the nation to provide a veterinary service 100% dedicated to End of Life Care. Why you should join our group: --- We have a huge support team and refined protocols that makes it a wonderful experience for a veterinarian who wants to help families in this difficult time without having to worry about scheduling, paperwork, aftercare, or anything else than doctor visits and minimal admin. --- Our admin procedure is streamlined and efficient. Our Location: 580 W Imperial HWY Unit E, Brea, CA, 92821 Schedule: This is a full-time position, you select your schedule: 4 days a week, weekends plus 2 weekdays. Or week-end days, 12 hours per day. Your Mission as our End-of-Life care Associate Veterinarian: --- You will help families through the difficult experience of having to say goodbye to a family fur baby in the comfort of their own home. --- You will be expected to treat the families you help with compassion and perform a peaceful, meaningful experience for families who are in the situation of having to say goodbye. Note: We have a full training program that will familiarize doctors with our successful protocols, and which will train our doctors to be able to deal with any situation they could encounter. End-of-Life care Associate Veterinarian's duties and responsibilities: --- You will represent and execute our practice major service: 95% home euthanasia and 5% hospice or Quality of Life assessments - 100% End of Life care. --- Our service is mobile. We service mostly Orange County with occasional visits in the Inland Empire, LA County and San Bernardino counties. Required experience and qualifications: --- DMV degree with California Veterinary License. --- You will be expected to be proficient at placing IV catheters. We have training materials and many protocols which will teach you to deal with any End of Life situation such as when it is impossible to place an IVC (for the routine euthanasia, we do expect our doctors to be proficient at placing catheters). Preferred soft skills and personality traits: --- Compassion, caring, warm and loving personality. --- Excellent communication skills. --- Must be in good physical condition as you will be expected to help lift pet bodies after they have passed away. Please note that we have strict guidelines for the families to follow which means that no one person will ever be expected to lift more than approximately 35 lbs. We have strict requirements for families to provide enough help to lift their pet after the pet's passing, so no unrealistic expectations. Thank you for sending your application online.
