This role will focus primarily on removal defense and family-based immigration cases, including asylum, cancellation of removal, humanitarian applications, and family-based permanent residence petitions. The ideal candidate will have strong writing, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Duties:Client Interaction: Engage directly with clients to gather information, provide updates, and offer legal advice.Case Management: Monitor and ensure adherence to critical deadlines for immigration filings and court submissions.Document Drafting and Review: Draft and review letters, forms, and documents for partner and client review, and submit to relevant government agencies.Court Representation: Represent clients at USCIS interviews, including the Asylum Office, and at Master Calendar and Merits Hearings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review.Supervision: Oversee the work of legal assistants, ensuring quality control, accuracy, and proper reporting to the supervising partner.File Management: Maintain and organize both digital and physical client files to ensure accessibility and compliance.Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.At least one year of experience in family-based immigration law and/or removal defense is preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills.Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active license to practice law.Skills:Strong writing and drafting skills, particularly in the context of immigration law.Ability to represent clients in immigration court and USCIS interviews.Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Bilingual communication skills (preferred).Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining accurate records.Benefits:401(k) plan with matching contributions.Dental, vision, and health insurance coverage.Life insurance.Paid time off (PTO) and parental leave.Flexible spending account (FSA).Retirement plan options.
