Associate General Counsel Social and Human Services Nonprofit New York City (Hybrid) Salary: $130,000 to $150,000 per year based on experience Terrific Associate General Counsel position with a social and human services nonprofit in the New York City area. The Associate General Counsel will be an integral member of the organization, serving as a strategic legal advisor to the executive team. The role will focus heavily on legal transactional work and contracts management. The Associate General Counsel will also serve as the Director of Compliance for the organization, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines, as well as overseeing the enterprise risk management program. The position will eventually manage one Legal Compliance Specialist. Candidates should have approximately 5+ years of related legal experience. J.D. and admission to the New York State Bar is required. Experience with employment law is a plus. This position currently operates on a hybrid schedule with two days in office. Responsibilities: Review contracts and commercial leases Implement systems to ensure efficiency in the contracting process Develop and maintain agency policies Serve as the expert on compliance topics within the organization Manage and oversee the risk management function Collaborate with outside counsel on litigation Develop and maintain legal databases Manage and mentor a Legal Compliance Specialist in the future Qualifications: Approximately 5+ years of relevant legal experience Experience with employment law is a plus J.D. from an accredited law school and member of the New York State Bar Experience with legal transactions and contract management A self-starter, with the ability to handle a large volume of projects Contract management software experience a plus Excellent writing and communication skills Experience utilizing contract management software Equal opportunity employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
