Associate Financial Analyst
Job Requisition ID: 12944 Additional Locations: The objective of the Associate Financial Analyst role is to help the sales team uncover education market opportunities and present data and findings in an easily consumable manner. The analyst will work with the sales team to understand their needs and specific customer issues to develop the appropriate market insights. The analyst will work with his/her peers and managers to ensure requests are being met in a timely fashion and help resolve issues as they come up. The analyst and the overall team will be responsible for producing a large quantity of customer facing analytical reports articulating the areas where educators can improve their student's performance. This function requires a highly organized, self-motivated, resourceful, solutions-oriented individual who is able to execute well in a high energy environment while working on multiple, concurrent projects. POSITION DUTIES Assist Manager of Sales Operations and Financial Analysts with info requests from sales reps and Sales Directors, and provide data on a scheduled basis. Extract data from different systems and organize/analyze using Excel. Compile and work with large datasets. Work with various departments within HMH to determine and fulfill data needs. Respond to data requests from all HMH divisions. Experience required Education, Background and Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or related position required. 0 – two years of related skills. Must be comfortable working with Microsoft office suite and intermediate to advanced level skills Excel is required. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical, qualitative and problem-solving abilities a must. Advanced Ms excel (Pivot tables, VLookups, formulas). Strong organizational, observational and communication expertise. Strong documentation and issue solving abilities, with attention to detail. Expertise to work in a team environment and independently. Must be dependable and reliable. Creative issue solving. Travel: 0 – 10% Physical demands: Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing). The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and on-line meetings.
