Government Executive Media Group (GEMG) is Atlantic Media’s B2B division focused on public sector innovation. GEMG clients are composed of Fortune 500 companies, who engage with GEMG to create cutting-edge marketing programs across digital, events, research, and custom content. This role will function as a key part of GEMG’s brand studio, Studio 2G. Assignments include: Write articles, blogs, microsites, social posts, videos, emails and infographics, often working with graphic designers to create final deliverables for publishing. Produce thought leadership content for high-profile clients in the public sector marketing space as well as lower-funnel content within the buyer's journey. Manage social media strategies for branded content as well experiment with social media optimization and paid advertising. Work directly with clients to understand their marketing goals and create narratives that help them achieve those goals. Attend and report on industry events Support the executive editor in maintaining journalistic standards and accuracy across the platform Assist in new product development, researching and developing new marketing products to be released to clients. Publish and manage content within GEMG's CMS. Execute and develop reporting for email marketing campaigns. Develop strategies and execute social media advertising campaigns. Requirements: 2+ years of background in digital media and communications, background within a newsroom or media organization preferred Background reporting and editing business news for a savvy audience Strong written and verbal communications skills Background with paid social campaigns Deep interest in smart and provocative reporting and the opportunity to shape the thinking of senior executives Facility with content management systems and back-end platforms such as WordPress, Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Photoshop, etc. An unyielding attention to detail and dedication to accuracy Operates independently in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment Exhibits strong ethics and journalistic integrity, reflecting The Atlantic’s core values Demonstrates an entrepreneurial, intellectual, and positive spirit Across Atlantic Media, generally, the firm looks for 2 “pillar gifts” in its applicants.
