This role is designed for candidates with a passion for education law and an interest in supporting students from preschool through 12th grade. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys and contribute to a vital area of legal practice.DutiesProvide support to senior associates, of counsel, and partners in various legal matters related to student services and disabilities.Conduct thorough legal research and draft clear, concise written documents.Assist in advising clients on issues concerning special education, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.Support clients in navigating student-related litigation and interactions with regulatory bodies, including the California Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH), California Department of Education (CDE), and the Federal Office for Civil Rights (OCR).Collaborate with team members to develop effective legal strategies and solutions for clients.Requirements0-5 years of legal experience, preferably in education law or related fields.Strong research and writing abilities.Excellent interpersonal skills, with the capacity to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.CertificationsAdmitted to practice law in California and in good standing.SkillsProficient legal writing and research skills.Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Location San Diego, CA, USBenefitsComprehensive health and wellness benefits.Opportunities for professional development and mentorship.Collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and innovation.Supportive initiatives for work-life balance.
