The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services in a dynamic and fast-paced legal setting.Location:Long Beach, CADuties:Conduct thorough legal analysis and research to develop robust defense strategies.Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery requests, depositions, motions, and briefs.Conduct depositions and provide client representation in litigation matters.Offer timely and effective communication, information, and legal advice to clients.Maintain consistent communication with client adjusters and representatives regarding case progress.Liaise professionally with courts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel as per established procedures.Efficiently manage and expedite case progress, aiming for effective and timely resolution.Make required court appearances and represent clients during proceedings.Assist in trial preparation, including witness and evidence presentation for trials, hearings, and alternative dispute resolutions.Accurately track and document billable hours, adhering to firm and client billing guidelines to meet monthly targets (average 175 hours/month).Requirements:Minimum of 5 years of experience in litigation and insurance defense or a related field.Proven ability to manage a varied caseload in a high-demand legal environment.Ability to make both in-person and virtual court appearances as necessary.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and legal software.Availability to travel for court appearances, client meetings, and other legal settings as required.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.Certifications:Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar (Nevada State Bar license preferred but not required).Skills:Strong legal writing and excellent verbal communication abilities.Advanced analytical skills with high attention to detail.Effective time management and strong responsiveness in client communications.Capability to manage high-stress situations and deadlines typical of a litigation practice.Benefits:401(k) with matching.Dental, health, and vision insurance.Flexible schedule and spending account options.Employee assistance program.Life insurance and paid time off.Parental leave and retirement plan options.
