The candidate will start with legal research and writing, with the opportunity to quickly move into handling court appearances and hearings. Developing their own case load will be supported and encouraged. Duties:Conduct legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, and available legal resources.Draft motions, briefs, and sentencing memos.Handle court appearances and hearings.Develop and manage a case load.Present statements of fact, laws, and arguments clearly and logically, both verbally and in writing, including before judges.Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to legal problems and matters.Prepare reports and recommendations. Requirements:Graduate of an accredited law school.Member of State Bar of Michigan in good standing.Experience in conducting legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, and available legal resources.Superior legal research and writing skills.Excellent communication skills. Education:Graduate of an accredited law school. Certifications:Member of State Bar of Michigan in good standing.
