This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative and dynamic environment, where professional growth is supported, and client advocacy is central.Duties:Case Analysis and Review: Evaluate and review newly assigned and ongoing matters to provide comprehensive legal representation.Court Representation: Attend depositions, court hearings, and settlement conferences to advocate effectively for clients.Document Drafting: Prepare all necessary legal documents, ensuring they adhere to internal protocols and are finalized through appropriate channels.Research and Opinion Issuance: Conduct detailed legal research using all available resources and issue well-founded legal opinions to clients.Negotiations: Represent clients in settlement discussions and negotiations to resolve cases favorably when appropriate.Client Communication: Maintain ongoing communication with clients and carriers, keeping them informed on case progress and next steps.Billing and Case Management: Submit timesheets daily, monitor billing processes, and audit and approve billing statements promptly.Requirements:California Bar Membership: Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.Legal Expertise: Knowledge of civil litigation and health care defense practices, obtained through a combination of education and practical experience.Ethics and Compliance: Strong commitment to ethical practice by the state's Rules of Professional Conduct.Experience Level: 0-7 years of relevant experience in defense-oriented civil litigation.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active membership with the California State Bar (required).Skills:Research and Writing Skills: Proficiency in conducting legal research and crafting detailed legal documents.Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills to assess and strategize complex legal matters.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.Interpersonal Skills: Ability to engage with diverse clients, attorneys, and staff professionally and courteously.Team Collaboration: Thrives in a team setting and contributes positively to a supportive and collaborative work environment.Travel Capacity: Willingness to travel locally and statewide as needed to attend to client needs.Benefits:Health and Wellness: Health insurance options to support your well-being.Retirement Savings: 401(k) plan with employer-matching contributions.Flexible Work Schedule: Flexibility in scheduling to support work-life balance.This full-time role offers a pathway for motivated attorneys to work on significant cases while gaining autonomy and practical experience within a supportive team.
