Job Summary New York Water Tours is looking for a licensed Assistant Plumber: New York Water Tours is seeking a skilled plumber who will install and maintain systems such as potable water, sewage and draining in plumbing systems and other systems including but not limited to: inspecting and repairing pipes (PVC, Black, Stainless Steel, Pex). The plumber will be reporting to various New York Water Tours locations both on land and on water. Responsibilities Cut, assemble and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g. electrical wiring) Install and maintain water supply systems Locate and repair issues with water supply lines (e.g. leaks) Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets etc. Repair domestic appliances (e.g. washing machines) and fixtures (e.g. sinks) etc. Install and maintain gas and liquid heating systems (air-conditioning units, radiators etc.) Install waste disposal and sanitary systems with well-functioning DWV systems Install underground sanitary, drainage, and water supply piping systems Cut pipes and transport to construction locations where they are required Utilize hand tools in fitting of valves, couplings and components for tanks, pumps or other plumbing system Dig trenches/install pipes and piping fixtures for water or sewage systems Mount hangers and brackets on walls to provide support for pipes Measure, cut, thread, and assemble pipes to required angles using measurement tools Inspect plumbing systems to identify issues and initiate repairs Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to lift 50 lbs over head Must be willing to Work up to 12 hour shifts Must be willing to work on holidays and weekends Proven experience as a plumber Solid understanding of water distribution and disposal systems in residential, commercial and industrial buildings Working knowledge of heating and ventilation systems as well as appliances Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers etc.) Good communication and interpersonal skills Friendly with a great deal of patience Good physical condition and strength with the ability to work in awkward spaces Job Type: Full-timePay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hourBenefits: Health insurance Paid time off Schedule: 10 hour shift 12 hour shift Holidays Night shift Weekends as needed Experience: Plumbing: 5 years (Required) License/Certification: Plumbing License (Required) Driver License (Required) Ability to Relocate: New York, NY 10014: Relocate before starting work (Required) Powered by JazzHR
