Assistant Manager-R&D - Manager-R&D - Embedded Wireless Solutions

Position summary: Plan, organize, lead, and coordinate the activities of approx twelve engineering, technical, and administrative support staff. Oversee the completion of research, development, fabrication, test and support projects for a mix of U.S. Government and industry clients. Projects emphasize system, hardware and software engineering for innovative embedded wireless solutions. Application areas include electronic warfare (EW), tracking and locating (RFID), radio navigation, remote sensing and terrestrial/satellite communications. Representative functions include goal setting, promotion of new business, project management and systems engineering. Reports to the department director and together establish strategic objectives for program growth, facilities enhancement, staff development and client cultivation. Responsible for meeting utilization, technical and business objectives in support of successful operations. Frequent travel will be required. Education/Background: Requires a BS degree in Electrical Engineering with six years of related experience leading others and administering technical and professional needs. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Strong understanding of radio electronics and radio frequency systems is required. Must have superior verbal, written and interpersonal communication abilities. Must have proven success in building and sustaining technical programs and high performing teams. Must have background in the development of technology related to advanced RF communications and have demonstrated success promoting work and running a business unit. A valid/clear driver's license is required. Special Considerations: Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility qualifications for access to classified info. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
