The Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager position's principal role is to fulfill our mission statement, "to create the most enjoyable shopping background possible for our Guests." Additionally, AIT and Assistant Managers perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g. cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities). Work directly with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new Team members and provide leadership. The AIT and Assistant Manager will also share responsibility for training and motivating Team members and act as the Store Manager in their absence. The Assistant Manager Position is a progression from the AIT position and therefore includes additional high-level duties that are specific to that position, though the majority of job requirements and responsibilities are shared.Sales Generation and Guest ServiceGreet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and is consistently prepared to provide legendary service to each Guest.Teammate Recruiting, Training and DevelopmentDevelop skills and assist in leading, directing, motivating and educating new Team members to meet and achieve Buckle's accountability, shift orientation, Loss Prevention and sales presentation standards on a daily basis.Visual Merchandise ManagementOwn and influence product through zone ownership, exhibiting the expertise to recognize and merchandise products and projects to Team members daily with a specific learning goal in mind.OperationsAbility to work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends, the day of/day after Thanksgiving and Christmas, all based upon store and business needs.Establish relationships and strong communication with Corporate Office Departments to assist Store Manager in effective operations of the store.Supervisory and LeadershipAbility to travel and cover other Stores within District based on business needs.Coachable; consistently welcomes feedback from Manager to improve sales presentations.Competencies* Teamwork* Customer Service* Leadership* Communication* Planning / Organizing* Job Knowledge* Consultative Selling* Attendance / PunctualityTeammate ClassificationsFull-time Team members are those regularly scheduled to work 35 or more hours per week and are actively engaged in the business for a min of 5 (5) days per week on a regularly scheduled basis. Full time Team members may be eligible to participate in Buckle's full time benefit programs.
