Summary of the Position: We’re looking for an Assistant Controller to join our team. As our Assistant Controller, your top priority is to assist in all financial activities. Your day is filled with variety as you will be wearing multiple hats including performing financial and accounting functions and offering financial insights and analysis. You will learn the business, own your portion of the work, and pitch in when necessary. Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller provides expert level support in the preparation of month-end financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. The primary focus is on making significant contributions to financial operations, including reporting of revenue, submission of expenses, and maintenance of internal financial controls. Main Responsibilities: Perform full cycle accounting including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable & Payable and Payroll. Prepare monthly internal reporting for directors. Support the annual budget in conjunction with various levels of management and Board direction. Analyze financial data to provide assistance to various levels of management in order to ensure sound business decisions are made throughout the organization. Participate in systems implementations and enforcement of process controls. Assist in year-end audit process. Complete external reporting to Provincial and Federal government.
