Job Summary: The Armed Security Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of DreamFields' personnel, facilities, and assets. This position involves conducting regular patrols, monitoring surveillance systems, and managing entry points to prevent unauthorized access. Armed Security Officers are responsible for responding swiftly and effectively to security incidents, providing a visible and authoritative presence to deter potential threats. This role requires professionalism, discipline, and the ability to act quickly and effectively under pressure, adhering to all security protocols and Illinois state legal requirements for armed security personnel. Duties/Responsibilities: Secure the designated station with attention, discipline, and professionalism. Check in facility visitors, guests, and employees. Ensure security SOPs are followed with strict adherence. Conduct routine patrols of the facility perimeter to ensure security checkpoints are secure. React and report to on-site security-related issues swiftly and without hesitation. Monitor facility security cameras to ensure the safety and security of employees and company property. Ensure that security rooms, gates, doors, locks, and cameras are in working order during designated shifts. Required Skills/Abilities: Strong skills in de-escalation training, conflict resolution, self-defense, and crowd control. Excellent attention to detail, communication, and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations. Must be at least 21 years old, as required by Illinois state law for armed positions. Certifications (Required): Valid PERC card and FOID card required in Illinois. Must own a registered firearm. Completion of a 20-hour unarmed and 20-hour armed security training. Must possess an Original Firearm Training Certificate issued by IDFPR and have completed a re-qualification within the past 12 months. First Aid/CPR certification is strongly preferred but not required. Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. 2+ years of experience as an armed security officer, law enforcement, or military. 2+ years of experience in customer service. Schedule/Availability Day Shift: 3 days on, 4 days off, followed by 4 days on, 3 days off. Shifts run from 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Su,W,Th M,T,F,S Night Shift: 3 days on, 4 days off, followed by 4 days on, 3 days off. Shifts run from 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM.
