American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter Sanford Federal, Inc. seeks qualified ASL Interpreters to provide interpretation services for hearing-impaired Veterans and employees at the Phoenix VA Healthcare System facilities. Interpreters will translate spoken English into ASL and vice versa in medical appointments, employee training sessions, and other situations as needed. Location: Services will be performed at the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Health Care System at the below locations:Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center, 650 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix AZ 85012 Northeast VA Health Care Clinic, 11390 E. Via Linda Road, Suite 105, Scottsdale, AZ 85259 Southeast VA Health Care Clinic, 3285 S. Val Vista Drive, Gilbert, AZ 85297 Northwest VA Health Care Clinic, 13985 W. Grand Avenue, Suite 101, Surprise, AZ 85374 Southwest VA Health Care Clinic, 9250 W. Thomas Road, Phoenix, AZ 85037 Midtown VA Health Care Clinic, 5040 N. 15th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85015 Thunderbird VA Health Care Clinic, 9424 N. 25th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85021 Globe VA Health Care Clinic, 5860 S. Hospital Drive, Globe, AZ 85501 Payson VA Health Care Clinic, 903 E Highway 260, Payson, AZ 85541 Show Low VA Health Care Clinic, 5171 Cub Lake Road, Suite C380, Show Low, AZ 85901 The Phoenix VA Clinic - 32nd Street 400 N. 32nd Street, Gateway Neighborhood of Phoenix, Arizona. Schedule: On-call, as-needed basis. Interpreters must be available on short notice, within 24 hours or less in some cases. Minimum 30 minutes, maximum 8 hours per day. Some early morning, evening, and weekend hours required. Responsibilities: •Provide accurate and complete real-time interpretation between ASL and spoken English during medical appointments, training sessions, and other activities.•Arrive 15 minutes early to review assignment materials when possible.•Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times.•Adhere to RID Code of Ethics and standards of conduct. Requirements: •Fluent communication skills in both American Sign Language and English•RID Certification required•1+ years recent experience in medical or community interpreting settings•Ability to interpret complex medical terminology•Clear background check and security clearance•Reliable transportationPowered by JazzHR
