This position is responsible for organizing and directing the education program to meet current federal, state, and local standards governing care, to promote care excellence, professional excellence, and regulatory excellence. What will I do as an ADON for Education and Clinical Compliance? Responsible for planning, organizing and implementing education and staff development of nursing staff facility wide. Participates in the identification of training needs. Ensures new clinical initiates are implemented according to regulation and clinical element pathways. Plans, organizes and implements orientation and onboarding activities for new hires. Ensures that new nursing hires are properly oriented to Keswick's work procedures and policies. Follows up with new hires throughout the first 30 days to provide educational and psychosocial support that facilitates acclimation to role and retention in the organization. Participates in ongoing efforts to improve the overall quality of nursing care, including efforts to evaluate and address the causes of various care-related problems and opportunities for improvement. Participates in the development and implementation of corrective action plans; participates in the facility-wide Quality Improvement Committee, and other facility groups to identify and/or improve nursing and center operations. Identifies trends in patient care; recommends and implements corrective action plans in coordination with nursing leadership. Establishes routine, plan of correction, and ad-hoc audits of clinical documentation to identify compliance and training opportunities to ensure nursing practice complies with regulatory and legislative requirements. Serves as PointClickCare super-user resource and administrator to modify batch orders, assessments, etc. as indicated. Supports nursing team in training PCC users and providing timely and appropriate access to various users. Manages immunization records and employee health processes and events. Coordinates state/other communication in communicable disease events as required. Coordinates employee and resident vaccination clinics. Ensures documentation regarding resident vaccinations include offering, education, acceptance/declination of vaccinations. Acts as a key leader within nursing and across the organization for interdisciplinary communications and teamwork. Works as team player with nursing, administration, and support services to meet operational needs and support on a 24/7 basis. May participate in investigations regarding self-reports, resident/family concerns and assist in bringing resolution to issues. Participates in policy and protocol review and development reflecting evidence-based practice and clinical pathways. What is required in this position? Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Nursing is required; Master's degree preferred. Registered Nurse, licensed and in good standing with the State of Maryland Board of Nursing. Certification in Infection Control preferred. This position requires 5 years of prior nursing experience in a sub-acute or long-term care setting including 3 years in clinical education.
