Performs diverse responsibilities within the area and limits of authority delegated by school principal. The individual in this position discharges duties in a way that is professional and represents the School District in a positive way and in accordance with District policies, rules, and regulations. This position is designed to relieve administrators of office and routine responsibilities by planning, organizing, coordinating office work, as needed, and participating in the school office administrative operations to support overall student, staff and school success. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Makes decisions independently or recommends action as appropriate regarding emergencies Performs a wide variety of office duties utilizing computers, email, web sites, filing, processing and distributing correspondence Serves as liaison with other schools, Central office, community members and other locations. Dispenses pertinent details and direction to students, parents, staff, visitors, and community members Establishes, maintains, and ensures proper use and access to confidential files Composes correspondence requiring knowledge of relevant policies and procedures of the school, district, or igned area Attends meetings as recorder and prepares minutes Screens correspondence and telephone calls for administrator and staff Maintains multiple appointment calendars Makes arrangements for school visitations and facility use Cares for injured/ill students in the absence of school nurse or administrator Maintains school records, accounts, and budget info as igned Compiles, develops, and designs reports, handbooks, newsletters and special projects Maintains daily student/staff attendance/lunch count Maintains and retrieves student discipline data Generates and ensures the accuracy and punctuality of reports for state, auditors, and others Participates as a member of the Emergency Management Team Performs other position related tasks or services as may be igned by the school Principal Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. Occasionally Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles. Frequently Fingering. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling. Frequently Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Frequently Feeling. Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips. Frequently Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Constantly Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Expertise to receive detailed details through spoken communication, and to make the discriminations in sound. Frequently Repeive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or embly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
