Position overview The Administrative Assistant coordinates administrative office services for themselves and others primarily in the payroll and benefits department. This person will independently handle data entry, records control, mailings and other administrative activities. Understands and follows operating policies. Exercises independent judgment in the resolution of administrative problems. Prioritizes tasks/projects to ensure timelines are met. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The required functions include, but are not limited to the following: Coordinates and implements general office services for payroll and benefits such as data entry, records control, mailings and other administrative activities. Analyzes department operating practices such as record keeping systems, forms control, office procedures; creates new systems or revises established procedures as necessary. Interprets and communicates operating policies Assists with special project planning and implementation Operates personal computer to access e-mail, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software Uses various software applications such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports Exercises administrative judgment and assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results impacting the quality of service within the functional area Prioritizes tasks/projects to ensure timelines are met. Min Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) High-school certificate or GED (2 Years college or equivalent work background desired) 3 Years of related experience or relevant coursework Able to exchange non-routine info using tact and persuasion as appropriate Good oral and written correspondence skills Expertise to organize and prioritize in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment.
