This position is a one-semester appointment with possibility for subsequent one-semester appointments. The department needs faculty who can teach 100- and 200- level Spanish language classes in all modalities, including face-to-face, online synchronous, and fully asynchronous. Our greatest need is for faculty available to teach face-to-face on the Fairfax campus.Responsibilities: * Teaches 100- and 200- level Spanish language classes in all modalities, including face-to-face, online synchronous, and fully asynchronous - Adjunct faculty can teach up to three sections per semester based on course availability and instructor preferences; and * Attends a professional development workshop held in early January at the Fairfax campus in Virginia. Required Qualifications: * M.A. in Spanish (preferred in Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition or Pedagogy, or Latin American Studies); * Experience teaching college-level language courses; and * Candidates must be able to attend a professional development workshop held in early January at the Fairfax campus in Virginia.
