Role Overview: Join us as a Development Accountant where you will play a key role in overseeing the accounting and auditing functions for our commercial and multi-family building projects. This position involves managing accounts payable and handling all invoicing for development projects. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual who is proficient in complex financial tasks and thrives in ensuring accuracy and compliance through independent work. Responsibilities:• Manage accounts payable for all development projects to ensure prompt and accurate payment processing.• Oversee invoicing procedures to guarantee precision and adherence to contract terms.• Perform regular audits to verify financial accuracy and compliance.• Prepare and upkeep financial statements, reports, and budgets specific to development projects.• Track project expenditures and ensure they align with budgetary limitations.• Establish and uphold accounting systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency.• Collaborate with project managers and team members to provide financial insights and assistance.• Ensure all financial activities meet relevant regulations and standards.• Deliver comprehensive financial analysis and reports to stakeholders regarding project performance and financial status. Qualifications:• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required for this position.• Preferably holds a CPA or equivalent certification.• Must have at least 3 years of experience in accounting, focusing on commercial or multi-family buildings and projects.• Strong understanding of accounting principles, auditing standards, and financial reporting is essential.• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is a must.• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills are required.• High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills are necessary.• Should be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important for this role.
