POSITION DETAILS The Accountant will record and perform analysis of transactions; identify accounting issues; coordinate and implement resolutions; work successfully and efficiently in a team environment; and provide accounting support to Senior Accountant.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform basic review; and apply GAAP for revenue recognition and compliance. Prepare and/or review a variety of routine and ad hoc financial reports for management and other internal customers, as needed. Prepare monthly recurring journal entries and adjusting journal entries, as needed. Review, document and develop as necessary operating procedures and internal control processes.Analyze current processes for added value and improved efficiency. Interface with other departments to gather details and to review and resolve outstanding accounting issues to ensure proper accounting. Recognize and analyze potential issues and/or conflicts and recommend corrective action to minimize issues. Respond to routine and non-routine inquires from field offices, other departments and colleagues. Research open accounts receivable and perform due diligence in conjunction with field and Senior Accountant to clear old balances.Research and resolve unidentified cash receipts. Review Data Integrity of commissionable transactional documentation in comparison to internal statistics and reporting. Work in unison with a Senior Accountant to accomplish a series of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual tasks. Evaluate and adhere to internal accounting policies and procedures. Handle special projects as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. Min of 2 to 4 years of related experience and/or training including 2+ years professional level accounting background, preferably 2+ years background in general accounting, A/P, A/R clerical and/or entry level accountant positions.CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES None.COMMUNICATION ABILITIES Good written and spoken communication expertise. Expertise to collect, analyze, and summarize data and to prepare clear and concise reports.FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) regulations. Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Expertise to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis. Follows accounting practices to ensure optimum client satisfaction while guaranteeing CBRE financial interests are protected.REASONING EXPERTISE Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Expertise to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills. Expertise to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES Proficient in Microsoft office applications.
