Academic Pediatric Intensivist Professor of Clinical Child Health – Critical Care All Ranks, Non-Tenure Track The Women’s and Children’s Hospital at the University of Missouri-Columbia is seeking a Pediatric Intensivist to join our six-person team in the full-time coverage of the only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in mid-Missouri. The position includes patient care responsibilities in the Pediatric Critical Care, involvement in a thriving sedation service, and the teaching of residents (Pediatric, Med/Peds, & Emergency Medicine) and medical students. Clinical research activity is pursued and encouraged as evidenced by the launch of the NextGen Precision Health Initiative, a full-throttle investment in the health care infrastructure of our state. Bringing together expert faculty, state-of-the-art technology, and strategic partnerships with industry leaders, this initiative will boost our ability to deliver medical breakthroughs and care to underserved communities. Take our partnership with Siemens Healthineers, which offers our students, researchers and medical professionals access to advanced health technologies. As the UM System trains and deploys skilled doctors and specialists to careers in rural communities, they will carry these technologies — and the breakthroughs they enable — from paved city blocks to gravel roads and pastures. Job Details: 13-bed closed unit Multiple pediatric specialties including general surgery, neurosurgical, ENT, orthopaedics, plastics, etc. The multi-disciplinary team consists of residents, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, social workers, and dieticians. Duties are primarily clinical but include teaching in both formal and informal settings Call: Nights and days are distributed equally based on FTE status among faculty Dedicated Child health Critical Care transport service is available to provide services to refereeing hospitals. Average daily census varies between 13-18, with seasonal spikes Compensation structure: Primarily salaried, with opportunities for bonus All experience levels welcome - all ranks are available and will be commensurate with experience. Required Qualifications: MD / DO, Board-certified Pediatrician, BC/BE Pediatric Critical Care. In possession of, or ability to secure an unencumbered MO license For the purposes of this application, board-certified/board-eligible are considered experienced. Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with interest in pediatric transport, patient safety, sedation, outreach programs, and/or clinical informatics.
