Job Requisition #: 029401 2nd Shift Setup Mechanics (Open) Job Description: Job Summary: The Yarn Setup Mechanic role, under supervision of the Production Supervisor, is responsible for setting up and adjusting equipment in the Yarn department. This is a hands-on position that requires mechanical aptitude and independent judgment. Primary Accountabilities: * Prepare Yarn Department equipment and make adjustments as necessary for each work order. * Solely perform changeovers between work orders to meet specifications. * Ensure Yarn Department is running smoothly by managing operators and work order flow. * Oversee Yarn operators to ensure quality workmanship and accuracy. * Assist the Yarn team in making sure they have all the necessary resources to perform the job efficiently (i.e. materials, equipment). * Address productivity and quality concerns with team members directly, while keeping the supervisor abreast of any issues. * Perform periodic quality checks within Yarn Department to ensure compliance to specifications and/or COAs. * Communicate with management team on efficiency and quality matters within department. * Capable of performing other duties assigned by management as required. Job Requirements: * High School diploma, GED or equivalent required. * Mechanical aptitude is necessary. * Ability to read various measurement equipment including tape measures, calipers and micrometers. * Ability to read and interpret work orders to understand machine setup requirements. * Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimum supervision. * Excellent attendance required.
