Job summary Serve as a Web User interface designer( Web UI Designer) for the company's public facing web sites. Works in a team environment alongside internal stakeholders and clients to translate ideas into highly usable web designs and on-line advertisements. Key Duties / Responsibilities Researches and creates graphical user interfaces, page layouts and graphical elements for new and existing web sites. Use HTML/CSS to create clean, standards-compliant web pages for various company web sites. Create cutting edge designs for on-line marketing initiatives including banner ads. Required to practice active listening skills, process info from multiple stakeholders and apply strong sense of design. Coordinate with creative services department to present a unified customer background across channels. Apply SEO best practices to web pages. Requirements Decision Making Plans and performs highly complex or technical work. Physical demands/ Working Condidtions Office Education & Knowledge Required BA/BS in Design/Graphic Arts or equivalent background 5+ years related web design background with exceptional portfolio. Required experience / Skills / Abilities Ability in HTML/XHTML/CSS Solid understanding of navigation and GUI for maximizing usability Ability in web design issues (cross-browser compatibility, efficient loading, semantic mark-up,etc.) Ability in Adobe software, such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, fireworks, Illustrator. Manage multiple projects, negotiate work flow, and handle aggressive deadlines. Desire and willingness to work in a collaborative, innovative, flexible and team-oriented enviroment. Strong written and spoken communication abilities. Preferred Background / Skills / Abilities Foundational understanding of web application development with technologies such as .NET and JSP Background with Java Script Background designing and coding for CMS's such as ATG Harland Clarke Holdings Corp. to include its subsidiary and affiliated companies (Harland Clarke, Scantron, Checks In The Mail, Subscriber Mail) is an equal opportunity employer.
