Location Herndon, VA SharePoint Engineer (Consultant Specialist) Essential Functions: Interpersonal skills necessary to establish HP technical expertise with client subject matter experts Presentation and business skills necessary to provide technical sales support directly to customers Familiarity Microsoft platform, object model, and in developing .Net applications Experience implementing Microsoft SharePoint 2010 or Microsoft SharePoint 2007 Experience using methodologies and processes used design, construct, test, implement and optimize web applications Documentation skills necessary to complete customer requests for proposals, business and technical designs Track record of delivering timely cost effective solutions Ability to travel as needed Plans, directs, and co-ordinates activities to manage and implement project to meet contractual obligations Controls project requirements, scope, and change management issues Position Overview: Perform technical consulting implementing and migrating clients into Microsoft SharePoint 2010 from one data center to another from various versions of Microsoft SharePoint. Projects typically involve implementing a previously approved technical solution, installing and configuring Microsoft SharePoint, resolve issues uncovered via testing and migrating the clients existing Microsoft SharePoint data. Provide client and senior management written and verbal status updating as required. Ideal candidates have in-depth technical skills with Microsoft products that cross over between infrastructure and development. Prerequisites Microsoft certification, MCAD or better desired Experience defining and developing client requirements, developing business opportunities and general client management activities Experience managing client expectations and resolving executive level issues Strong personal network Familiarization with SharePoint 2010 Language skills -.NET, C#, ASP, VB, XML, JavaScript, HTML Platform skills Microsoft Office SharePoint 2010 or 2007 Server Administration, SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008, Microsoft Office Communications Server OCS, Windows Server, Exchange Server, Microsoft Active Directory Experience developing prototype solutions and implementing collaboration, content management, and portal solutions Able to travel as needed to execute project requirements (varies by project Use 20% for planning) Experience with migrating SharePoint 2003 to SharePoint 2007 or SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010 Familiarization with Microsoft Service Operations Manager (SCOM) Good written and oral communication skills; good interpersonal skills. Ability to conduct research into server issues and products as required. Highly self motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong customer service orientation. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Prior experience implementing and migrating Microsoft Project Server a plus.
