Description:
The world's leading photo printing company is seeking a temporary Service and Repair Technician for about 6 months. Employee duties include maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, document, and repair digital imaging systems composed of PC based computer hardware, related peripherals and application software. To also provide 'Tier-1' (non-escalated) technical assistance to Customer Support and self-service providers in support of digital imaging systems.Duties include but are not limited to:•Diagnoses, repairs, inspects and reports status of PC based computer equipment and related digital peripherals (primarily external customer equipment)•Provides technical support and internal training for digital imaging hardware and peripherals•Troubleshoots hardware to sub-component level with ability to replace defective component(s)•Reinstalls Operating System software and digital imaging application software into related platforms•Responsible for repairing and maintaining inventory of field-replacement equipment necessary to fulfill warranty agreement with customers•Assists Customer Service in responding to customer inquires concerning various aspects of systems operation and problems or issues associated with the digital imaging kiosks and related systems•Assists with system and kiosk assembly efforts necessary to meet production requirements•Will assist with production activities as neededPreference/Requirements:•Functional knowledge of digital imaging systems•Functional knowledge of PC based hardware platforms including computing devices and components (i.e. RAM, hard drives, CD-Rom drives, floppy drives, SCSI devices, scanners, dye sublimation printers, and ink jet printers)•Demonstrated ability in loading and installing software packages such as operating systems, proprietary software and third-party applications•Ability to take direction•Ability to maintain knowledge of changing platforms•Ability to interpret (and write) technical documentation including ECOs. ECRs.
