With theconsolidated capabilities of our regional laboratories andexpanding international presence, we are able to offerunequaled convenience in utilizing 1 laboratory for alldiagnostic and prognostic clinical testing needs.LOCATION: Collegeville, PADESCRIPTION: The Senior Program Manager, reporting to the Director, Strategic Sourcing, has the primaryresponsibility for architecting and executing the value basedsourcing process, which is integrated with a Global SourcingPartner (GSP), in China. Leading a team of sourcing andtechnical professionals and managing a high profile partnerrelationship, the Senior Program Manager will collaborate withexternal and internal company business leads, department andbusiness unit senior managers, and corporate procurementsourcing and supply management leads to establish sourcingprocesses and sourcing strategies that deliver significanteconomic benefit to the company. This position will initiate andmanage projects to source, negotiate, and implement productacquisition taking full advantage of Company size and scale, aswell as the GSP’s. The Senior Program Manager will create astrategic and targeted approach to building a sourcing pipelinein Asia, based on spend analytics, growth and businessstrategies, and on the demands for products generated by thebusiness.• Sets the operational direction for the Value Based Sourcingfunction and communicates the underpinning strategy toleaders at all levels of the company.• Aggressively globalize the supply base to include low costcountry focus, driving cost out across all appropriatecommodities and services.• Develop, implement and direct strategies to manage thecompany’s direct spend in China and integrate those strategiesinto the Corporate Procurement overall strategic plan.• Based on data analytics and cost analysis, developsnegotiation points for sourcing projects, improvements toCompany and supplier processes and methodologies to obtaincost reductions for products sourced.• Works with the Sourcing and Supply Chain teams to developmethodologies to understand key materials trends (i.e.: plastics,textiles, labor rates, etc). Projects movements in those trendsbased on commodity indices, commodity economic trends, andother public info in order to estimate opportunities andimpacts to sourcing initiatives.• Develop a China supplier sourcing strategy and acomprehensive on-going supplier management process, usingtechnology to identify initiatives and speed of processes.• Oversee the competitive processes, with the GSP, including,RFP’s, RFI’s, and RFQ’s, for all commodities and products.• Assures supplier capability and quality management systems,with the GSP, for the China supplier base and the productsproduced by those suppliers.• Ensures that ongoing world-class benchmarking is conductedto maintain a continuous improvement environment• Effectively manage the GSP supplier relationship and, thesupplier relationships of China suppliers engaged in providingproduct to Company.• Develop staff capabilities through delegation and oversight ofsourcing activities and processes; review, create and implementactionable sourcing project plans to deliver savings financialtargets on time.• Manage and track planned and achieved savings initiativesassuring those savings are communicated and properlyaccounted for as part of the overall savings plan.• Direct and guide process improvement initiatives in thesupplier base with the GSP; instituting techniques such asstrategic cost management processes, cost takeout programs,supplier performance scorecards, and product enhancementinitiatives• Integral member of the company corporate procurementteam.Essential skills and Leadership Characteristics:• Articulate, and a good communicator - oral and written.• Self directed action oriented forward-thinking and creativewith high ethical standards• Ability to manage and balance a heavy international travelschedule (~40 – 50%) Self directed action oriented forwardthinkingand creative individual with high ethical standards.• Dynamic, global leader with a record of achieving resultsindividually and through others.• Strategic visionary with strong collaboration/negotiation skills,analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.• Highly developed intellectual capacity, strategy skills andinfluencing ability.• Ability to work cross functionally, in differing cultural settings.• Ability to manage multiple projects, concurrently, and buildconsensus, both in the company and with external partners.• A team builder, a team member, and a team leader.• Proven background to lead change in the face of adversity;to challenge the status quo constructively.• Articulate, and a good communicator -oral and written.• Ability to manage and balance a heavy international travelschedule (~40 – 50%)REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:• Background in leading sourcing and procurement initiatives inlow cost geographies/countries, preferably within Asia (i.e.:China)• Expert-level negotiation skills and background negotiating highprofile contracts and relationships.• An understanding and background with developed markets andemerging markets (i.e.: BRIC).• Ability to manage internal clients including line of business,business unit, and department senior leaders and managers.• Demonstrated skill leading in a matrix globalenvironment• Strong professional presence, leadership competencies, andcapable of working effectively with all levels of the organization.• Ability in all Microsoft office of products. Knowledgeof PeopleSoft ERP desired.• Accomplished in data base analytics and a disciplined projectmanager.• Understanding of strategic cost management and, has afuturistic mind setBACKGROUND: 10+ years of related skills in Global Supply ChainManagement/international sourcing. within a large, global andtechnical organization, preferably in the healthcare ortechnology industries.Special Qualifications:• Ability to manage and balance a heavy international travelschedule (~40 – 50%)• Prior background in establishing and managing sourcing in lowcost geographies, specifically Asia and particularly, China.EDUCATION: Min Bachelor of Science degree; preferably in a business,supply chain, or engineering discipline; MBA much stronglypreferred.
