Research Study Description: Effects of dairy consumption on insulin In Brief: This is a study to assess the effects of dairy consumption on insulin levels in men and women at risk for the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus who regularly consume sugar-sweetened beverages (non-diet sodas and fruit juice cocktails).Detailed Description: During this 15 week, 7 visit study, eligible volunteers will receive the following study related care at no cost: study related physical exam, investigational study food (low fat milk, low fat yogurt, pudding, and non-diet carbonated soft drink), and laboratory work. Some participants will also receive continuous glucose monitoring. Eligible participants may receive compensation for time and travel up to $405.
