Company Description: operator and developer of commercial real estate with more than six million square feet of space under management in LA and OC seeks a seasoned Corporate Controller to join our team. We are guided by a long-term approach to investing, but also retain the entrepreneurial flexibility to take advantage of ever-changing market conditions. Job Description: The Controller will be a key member of the team managing 600,000 sf. Manage the financial activities with particular focus on cash activity and financial reporting to the equity and debt participants. The venture is structured as a private REIT. Process monthly invoices and requisitions for payment from vendors and sub-contractors Prepare monthly draw request to Lender Monthly analysis of actual costs to budget, reporting variances to project managers Update budgets, contract values and reserves Monthly preparation of financial statements Cash flow forecasting and budgeting Other special projects will arise to include this position in other activities and growth opportunities of the company. Qualifications: Accounting Degree; CPA is preferred 5 years of development accounting experience; REIT experience required Consolidations and SEC reporting experience Expertise in MRI job costing, Yardi, Nexus, Excel, Word Self-directed person comfortable working in collaborative environment Strong analytical skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to integrate accounting perspective with broader investment strategy
