**********************************************************************Position Title : Product Design Engineer " $ TOP PAY "( Hiring Now )ATTENTION : " $ TOP PAY "( Interviewing Now )********************************************************************** Relocation : NoLocation : Cleveland OH areaSalary : Competitive (DOE)This individual is a key cross functional project team member that will provide engineering support to all aspects of design to ensure achievement of project objectives. Analyzes, researches, and designs components or a system of components to develop new products or improve existing products while reducing cost, or enhancing performance. Designs and develops products and systems of moderate scope and complexity for assigned programs. Effectively applies continuous improvement principles and techniques to design and manufacturing areas.Principal Duties:- Creates designs for basic to moderately complex projects by analyzing product specifications, performance requirements, and existing manufacturing capabilities and applying engineering principals and established analytical tools.- Provide sustaining engineering support to existing products including VAVE, quality, and product improvements.- Determines feasibility of designing new systems or modifying existing systems by considering technical and economic factors.- Investigates pertinent design factors such as manufacturing capability, suitable materials, and interchangeability of components, cost, strength-weight efficiency, and Intellectual Property.- Participate in project team meetings and review meetings with all functional groups. Interface with other functional groups and suppliers regarding design, testing, purchasing, and manufacturing activities.- Prepares and reviews drawings for tooling and production release while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications. Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and improvements.- Use engineering tools such as risk assessments and DFMEA's to construct test plans and protocols. Build and test prototypes and breadboard models against developed test plans.- Communicates with customers on product capabilities and to clarify customers' technical requirements.- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and/or participating in professional associations.- Consistently applies established engineering practices, standards, tools and documentation methods.- Additional responsibilities as requested or required.Position Qualifications: - Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field with a min of 5yrs engineering product design experience in a team-based environment.- Must have had experience working with an Engineering Change process and manufacturing Bill of Materials system.- Ability to utilize CAD, preferably ProE, to do layouts and detail drawings sufficient to build prototypes and convey design concepts to other functional departments.- Must have thorough knowledge of mechanical drafting, dimensioning and tolerancing methods.- Must have experience working on projects from concept development through final release.- Familiarity with component manufacturing techniques including sheet metal bending, metal stamping, fabrication, extrusion and injection molding preferred.- Intermediate PC knowledge including MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Access/Projects).- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills. Self-directed regarding project goals.- Ability to establish working relationships within cross-functional teams.- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.Bottom line :1.
