Registered Nurses (RNs), promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members. They get assigned a variety of tasks, starting with maintaining proper safety procedures. RN duties include properly monitoring medical supplies, like needles and medication. They assess patient health problems and needs then carefully monitor patients' progress and responses to medical treatments, as well as administer medication and maintain disease clinics. They develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. RNs also may advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management.
