ORGANIZATION TYPE: Educational Organization LOCATION: Baltimore, MD POSITION TITLE: Marketing Manager SALARY: $55,000-65,000 POSITION OVERVIEW: The Marketing Manager will oversee a range of projects that support the marketing and promotion functions for our client, and contributes to the development and implementation of their marketing strategy. S/he will be responsible for creating and implementing marketing activities that support conferences and workshops, developing materials that articulate the meaning and value the organization's educational program, and creating a worldwide contact list used to promote various activities. Additionally, the Manager will be in charge of creating and distributing activity measures for the public web siteand managing routine conduct of the conference exhibit program. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and implement marketing and promotional activities in line with the strategic communications plan Prepares and implements a marketing plan for conferences and workshops Create and test messaging that will communicate the meaning and value the organization's educational offerings Develops and implements strategies to deliver this messaging through primary and secondary sources Monitors trends in the use of social media by relevant nonprofit organizations and recommends social media strategy appropriate to the organization's mission, audiences and resources Works with the Web Content Manager to develop relevant metrics for usage of the public web siteand works with these staff to refine web sitecontent Manages routine elements of the conference exhibit activity, including the production and shipping of exhibit displays and promotional materials Writes copy for electronic and printed media ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or Public Relations Experience in higher education/nonprofit marketing Experience marketing in a higher-education setting Must be able to understand market segmentation Social media skills are a plus Knowledge of Vocus marketing software is a plus Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we regretfully can only respond to those candidates who best meet the requirements of a specific position or whose backgrounds are generally applicable to our client base.
