Volt Delta Resources LLC, a Division of Volt Information Sciences (NYSE:VOL), offers Directory Assistance, Mobility and Telecom, Data and Media, and IT Outsourcing services to the Telecommunications, Financial Services, Contact Center and Enterprise markets. We have an immediate opening for Manager Project Accounting. This position has supervisory responsibilities. It requires working with business unit leaders to provide accounting guidance on general revenue recognition matters and to supervise monthly book close procedures, including monthly review of account reconciliations, required journal entries, and compliance with SOX controls. This position also works closely with internal and external auditors when required to support the position's responsibilities. This individual will report to the Controller.Responsibilities:" Manage a team of 2+ accountants" Manage month end closing activities including:o Review open & closed projects.o Maintain revenue forecast and pipeline.o Review revenue accounts.o Review deferred revenue accounts.o Review COGS and deferred COGS accounts.o Review and approve journal entries.o Review and creation of monthly accruals.o Annual, quarterly, and month-end close and review process" Manage annual SOX and financial audits as it pertains to revenue recognition." Conduct annual VSOE & BESP review." Special projects as required.Requirements:The ideal candidate will have Bachelor degree in Accounting (MBA is a plus) in addition to 5+ years of strong revenue recognition accounting experience with multi-element arrangements, software and contract accounting, including a working knowledge of SAB 101 & 104, SOP 81-1 & 97-2, and EITF 08-1 & 09-3. Other requirements include:" Related cost accounting experience is a must. " Working knowledge of SOX required." A superior working knowledge of Excel is required." Familiarity with PeopleSoft/Oracle and nVision or Hyperion is a plus. " Analytical and Detail oriented." Be able to work independently, with minimal direction.
