DescriptionDevelop and ensure realization of the logistics and warehousing strategy for the department, lead team and continuously improve the processes in line with the company's functional strategy and applicable guidelines, in order to realize the agreed objectives and targets.Accountabilities:Strategy own department:Develop the logistics and warehousing strategy for the Company, in line with overall company functional strategy, and contribute to the development of the overall strategyYear plan/budget:Translate departmental strategy and input from team leaders into a year plan/budget for the department and seek approvalsKnowledge and Background:Bachelor Degree with >4yrs experienceDifferentiating factors:Knowledge Business Processes:Has thorough knowledge of company business processes and of other business processes including relation to the unit/department and anticipates consequences; cooperates with stakeholders in own discipline and with other disciplines in plant, and with external parties on tactical level.Influencing Skills:Is able to manage and motivate people, is able to appeal to interest, culture and level of others, and manages or participates in organizational changesPolicy:Gives input to strategy of plant and translates strategy into year plan/budget for department and ensures realization of targetsScope:Responsible for a medium size department within a plant including union and non-union, Exempt and non-Exempt direct reports up to five reports total including Master Scheduler/Planner, warehouse operators. Position reports directly to the Operations/Supply Chain Director and is part of the Operations Management Team.Functional Duties:-Supports and develops master scheduling efforts-Manages all third party production contracts and works with Master Planner and third Party Quality Specialist in the management of the product-Works directly with the Local Procurement Manager on all contract development for third party warehousing and production-Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.-Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping qualifications by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to qualifications; advising management on needed actions.-Manages daily warehouse and logistical operations at production facility. Oversee all third party locations-Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.-Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.-Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.-Completes warehouse operational qualifications by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.-Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.-Monitor the quality, cost, and efficiency of both the movement and storage of goods of all relevant warehouses. Analyzing data to allow for monitoring performance and plan any necessary improvements.-Develops the business as needed by analyzing logistical problems and developing new strategies and solutions.-Ensures compliance with international and U.S. laws related to import/export activity.-Evaluates trade-offs between transportation costs, inventory costs, and service levels.-Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as (click to respond)(click to respond)Listing originally posted at http://www.jobvertise.com/job?jobid=9902297&referer=oodle
