Undo Employer Name: Tanson Corp SpiderID: 3057461 Location: Eden Prairie, Minnesota Date Posted: 11/11/2010 Wage: Category: Info Technology Job Code: TSO6832 Number Of Openings: one Position summary: Position title: Data Architect Location: Eden Prairie, MN, Duration: Contract to HIRE Position details: This dynamic and self-starting individual is responsible for helping establish and maintain enterprise data architecture to support Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse initiatives. The Data Architect role requires effective collaboration between IT and its business partners to create and maintain the logical and physical data models for all data tiers defined in the Data Warehouse. This includes defining the scope of data content, the structure, naming conventions, keys, versioning, retention schemes, aggregations, recovery strategy and other key components to build a enterprise class data architecture. The Data Architect role will help create and support the enterprise data warehouse architecture, focusing on the standardized and scalable flow of data between the operational systems to the enterprise data warehouse and into the BI info delivery systems. They will help define the changed data extraction methods from the source, process flow (ETL), storage and structure of DW data, relational and dimensional data warehouse models, data marts, operational data stores, OLAP versus ROLAP and meta data management. The successful applicant will need to efficiently and effectively deliver business value while balancing requirements with IT policies, procedures and other strategic initiatives. The perfect candidate will have superb customer relationship skills and must have demonstrated success in solving Business Intelligence problems that span business and technology. They will draw on their technical experience and knowledge to ensure the technical design and development is appropriate for meeting the business need and adheres to IT policy and best practices. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience and experience in working in a dynamic environment focused on Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing. They will have great communication, team leadership and business analysis skills. Required/ Desired Skills: Requirements * In depth experience with SQL Server 2005 & 2008, Reporting Services, Analysis Services and Integration Services (ETL) * Experience solving complex SQL problems, developing solutions and SQL analysis and performance tuning * Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret business need and identify appropriate business and technical solutions to meet those needs; Retail/Ecommerce/Credit experience favored * Experience with Business Intelligence, Analytics and Management Reporting tools (i.e. SAS, Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy, PerformancePoint, Analysis Services) * Excellent oral and written communications * Teamwork, leadership and people skills * Ability to motivate teams to apply skills and techniques in solving dynamic problems * Experience with Oracle 10g and 11g is a plus Minimum requirements * 7-10+ years of progressive experience in BI/Data Warehousing and details systems, demonstrating competency as a data architect including requirements gathering, analysis and design, database design, logical and physical data modeling, database development, data management, team leadership and customer relationship management. * Completion of a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or MIS with a broad business educational experience, or an Associates Degree from a college or technical school with equivalent years of work history.
