Inspired Interiors is seeking a full-time Associate Designer to join our dynamic team of designers. Inspired Interiors is looking for someone with a minimum of FIVE years of interior design experience (THREE years MUST be in Kitchen and Bathroom Design ONLY). WHO WE ARE: Inspired Interiors is a full service interior design/build firm. Inspired Interiors primary design focus is kitchen and bathroom design. We are a small design firm with a store and office space located in the North Center neighborhood of Chicago. We are a small family-oriented business that believes in hiring people who are looking to work long-term for a team-oriented business. We treat our employees like family and expect our employees to treat us in a reciprocal manner. We design our client's homes with the utmost care and concern. Our clients receive 'white-glove' service during every phase from concept to completion.REQUIREMENTS: Qualified designers must have at least FIVE years of interior design experience total. THREE of those years MUST be in the Kitchen & Bath Design field. Kitchen and Bath Design experience is a MUST and is non-negotiable. Do not apply if you do not have kitchen and bathroom design experience. Applicants MUST have experience with placing, checking, and overseeing installation of cabinetry orders. Candidates must have extensive knowledge of AutoCAD and 3-D rendering methods. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree majoring in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture. Candidates must currently reside in the Chicago area and be familiar with downtown and suburbs to effectively attend client meetings at various residences. MUST be a strong communicator who is solutions-based.QUALIFICATIONS: Junior Design candidates must have a very positive 'CAN DO' attitude. Candidates must be able to work a kitchen/bath project during each phase: measuring, drawing existing conditions, new floor plans, finish selections, writing product contracts, cabinetry layouts, cabinetry ordering, factory coordination, jobsite construction management, order tracking, and more. Candidates must also be able to work with clients on space plans, furniture selections, and basic residential interior designer roles. Applicants must know how to: assemble a set of construction documents, close a sales contract, write a fee agreement, manage a project independently, oversee construction of their design, and so forth. JOB ROLE: Candidates will work from the office/store in North Center 5 days per week. As a small business we can be somewhat flexible on hours and day for our employees (possible one day working from home). Candidates will meet with clients and have a SENIOR designer supervise all final presentations prior to client meetings until designer is capable of holding meetings indecently. Your job is to see a project through every phase: prospecting, bidding, writing a contract, overseeing ordering, managing construction. Applicants must also understand a small business environment where EVERYONE joins together to complete ALL tasks needed for a small business.PERSONALITY: Applicants must have a charming and charismatic demeanor that appeals to a broad audience of clients. Applicants must be patient with clients and understand their needs within their home. Applicants must simultaneously understand profitability of a project and how to effectively close clients. Designers must be able to work with equal portions of speed and accuracy. Designers must be able to lead clients through a decision making process.COMPENSATION: Compensation is based on your level of experience. Bonuses are paid for designers that show exemplary ability to close client contracts and manage profitability of their projects.
