Engineering Specialist – MatLab Simulink for Green Jobs Now.OrgAlternative Energy Job Description USA Green Jobs Now.Org Innovation Center is currently looking for an Engineering Specialist focusing on Alternative Energy Systems. The successful candidate will have a background in Mechanical Engineering and will have experience designing alternative energy systems in one or more of the following areas: Wind, Hydro, Hybrid Hydraulic, or Hybrid Electric power generation. The incumbent will be responsible for evaluating and developing new technologies, identifying market opportunities, developing business cases for the technology project and driving that project into the product development process technical knowledge and business acumen is required to be successful in this position. Job Qualifications/Educational Requirements
The position requires an MS in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of related experience. PhD is preferred. The successful candidate will have a broad understanding of mechanical and control systems for alternative energy applications. In addition, candidates should have the ability to develop early stage concepts and formulate a plan to deliver the project to the end customer. Successful candidates will have a proven track record in taking technologies from concepts to product demonstrations, knowledge in the areas of controls and power conversion from mechanical energy to electrical energy and technical expertise in the following areas:
- developing mathematical models (MatLab and Simulink preferred)
- CFD and structural FEA
- thermodynamics (modeling)
- energy conversion
