Electrical Engineering Manager Location: Oregon - Portland - Hood River Relocation Assistance Available - Yes We are excited to announce the opening for a Manager of Electrical Engineering. This position reports directly to the Engineering Director. This person will be responsible for leading the design and development of electronics system and architecture for our Piccolo Autopilot and TASE Gimbal product lines. This position will include a mix of sustaining engineering, system integration and new product development activities. The ideal candidate will have 10-14 yrs broad knowledge of the processes and techniques required to design and package electrical control systems for aerospace or similar high reliability applications. Specific duties and tasks for this position: - Lead a staff of engineers who are responsible for analog, digital and FPGA electrical design for a portfolio of autopilot and gimbal products used for surveillance and reconnaissance on both manned and unmanned platforms in air, marine and ground applications - Manage discrete board level mixed signal system implementations based on the latest MEMs inertial, air data and GPS technologies coupled with real time embedded microprocessors (MPC555, MPC565 and TI DSPs). - Experience in serial communication protocols (i.e (STANAG 4586) and physical interfaces (i.e. CAN, serial, ethernet) - Familiarity with brushless 3-phase motor drive and control electronics (gimbal actuators) - Discrete point of load DC/DC converter design and implementation (small size and low power) - Ability to develop complete schematics, build and validate part footprints and generate netlists. - Critical PCB layup/routing and initial mechanical placement on 8-14 layer PCBs with fine pitched BGAs- RF design, integration, simulation and test - Experience with the selection, screening and procurement of EEE parts for high reliability aerospace applications or other high reliability systems - Experience developing and testing electrical systems requiring strict compliance with grounding, EMI and packaging constraints - Responsible as the technical lead for electrical system architecture, integration and functional feasibility based on customer applications; facilitate decision making across other engineering disciplines - Champion new product development at CCT as a Project Sponsor across multiple functional areas within engineering; initiate evaluation and investigation of new technologies- Manage electrical projects; develop test plans, establish goals / timelines, and communicate status of projects to completion - Interface with suppliers for manufacturing feasibility, validation, and other engineering activities - Analyze, plan, and solve complex system problems as they relate to product performance, supplier development, manufacturing processes and customer needs - Provide support and be accountable for setting and driving all technical strategic goals, product technical roadmaps,business strategy and technical objectives for our autopilot and gimbal product lines - Maintain customer relations; provide flight test support, trouble shooting and consulting expertise Engineering Bachelor's Degree and ten year(s) related experience with four years in management role Engineering Master's Degree and 8yr(s) related experience with 2-four years in management role Expert knowledge in system level hardware design & development, analysis, electronics architectures, reliability, and risk mitigation Stabilized camera or imaging systems and electro-optical design, development and manufacturing experience preferred Electrical or Mechanical engineer with application experience in automotive, aerospace, or related industry sector Send resume to (click to respond)Listing originally posted at http://www.jobzoom.com/main/jobSummary.php?job_id=1210012
