Description:
The Laser and Optical Products Department in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the High Altitude Lidar Operations and Experiment (HALOE) to Electronics Systems and DARPA. The applicant will be responsible for the assembly and test of laser control electronics. The Electrical Engineer will work with others within the organization in the development of hardware in our growing lasers and sensors business base. The applicant's responsibilities include: (1) Integration and testing of switch mode power supplies, pulsed power supplies, RF circuitry, FPGA's, microcontrollers and other electronic hardware. (2) Assembly of component thru subsystem hardware with tasks involving surface mount components down to the 0201 package size, wire harnessing and tasks requiring a familiarity with conformal coatings. (3) Drawing on background with oscilloscopes, AWG's, stereo microscopes and other relevant hardware to carry out I&T and assembly work (4) Task documentation including process documentation for unique or custom assembly tasks, as-built configuration documentation, and redlines of design drawings. (5) Utilizing a knowledge and identification of standard electronic components and suppliers to aid in interfacing with outside vendors to meet hardware needs. (6) Interacting with and providing status to teammates. The following are the Required requirements for this position: Applicant must have superior verbal and written communications skills and practical working background. Requirements include a B.S. degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or related technical discipline and a min of nine to 13 yrs of related skills. Equivalent industry background will be considered as an alternative to specific degrees. Preferred Requirements: Background with the integration and test of laser electronic systems or component sub-systems and working understanding of electrical subsystem design is desired.
