alt="Job Summary" />Desktop Support SpecialstLocation: New York, NY Category: Info TechnologyStatus: Temporary/Contract Reference: US_EN_2_106027_221597Salary: N/A Posted: November 21,2012Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and info technology professionals, has an immediate opening for a high-level desktop support specialist for an opportunity with a leading designer in NYC.In this position candidates will:Provide 1st & 2nd level desktop hardware and software support and general technical support for VIP clients.Work closely with Executive Director of Global Projects and Global CTO to provide daily support and act as special project liaison. Technical support will include but is not limited to PCs, iPads, Smartphones, Blackberries, Video, wireless, etc.Respond to client requests on all PC/MAC hardware and software matters and provide resolutions that will both improve system performance and reduce downtime.Provide hardware and software support including installation/troubleshooting of standard and proprietary applications, analyzing and correcting desktop problems, system upgrades, hardware diagnostics, network access rights and coordinating repairs.Meet with end users to determine hardware/software needs-research options and provide recommendations.Escalate issues and concerns to management and subject matter experts (Security, Application Development Group, Network Support Group, Systems Access Group, or Outside Vendors).Provide technical support for remote client access and connectivityProvide all levels of technical support to VIP clientsJOB REQUIREMENTS:Education: Associates minTechnical degree or equivalent, Certified Microsoft OS training, PC& MAC troubleshooting trainingSpecific Experience: three - 5yrs of Level 1-2 Support in 500+ node environment, 2yrs Technical Supervisor capacitySpecific Technology: Windows XP, Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010, Microsoft Project, Internet Explorer, MAC, iPad, Lotus Notes, PC Anywhere, Blackberries, Smartphones, Norton Anti-Virus, Altiris, Dell and IBM compatible desktop PCs, Lenovo laptops, Digital Cameras, HP printers, scanners, and related hardware/software, understanding networking technologies and ProtocolsSoft Skills:Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are required.If you are interested in this opportunity or other opportunities available through Adecco Engineering and Technical, please apply on-line or email directly to (click to respond)Listing originally posted at http://jcnlx.com/e57b29ab97a34a77877c093be685029f102
