116016- Unique role! This is a unique role for a talented applicant who is passionate about Technology. You could call it a MySQL DBA, or a Data Warehouse Developer. The key things are: * MUST have a Computer Science degree. Not Info Technology or Details Sciences or Management Details Systems or anything like that.
- Collaborate with the Engineering and IT teams to define qualifications and implement new database (DB) systems to meet the growing needs of the business.
- Proficiency in at least 1 programming or scripting language (C, C++, Java, Python, Ruby, etc.).
- Must be a Programmer. They do not have strong feelings about what languages the applicant codes in, but he or she should be able to demonstrate strong programming fundamentals.
- Strong Linux skills.
- Open on level of background Responsibilities: * Support and maintain large (multi-terabyte) MySQL production databases containing critical business data.
- Assist in on-call efforts to maintain database uptime as needed. Qualifications: * Bachelors or advanced degree in Computer Science, or equivalent background.
- Administer and support existing database systems, working to optimize performance, stability, and uptime.
- Must have SQL background
- Write and maintain Python scripts for monitoring, capacity planning, backups, and recovery.
- Working understanding of Linux md raid and LVM, or willingness to learn.
