No attachments please unless its a pdf file. Compliance Medical Coding Auditor Self-motivated professional with prior professional fee auditing background. Performs annual, periodic, or other focused medical record audits as requested to oversee the quality and accuracy of physician, inpatient and outpatient coding, and documentation Requires outstanding communication and excellent organization skills to ensure timeliness and accuracy of response requests, as well as continual program development through training and process improvement. · Conduct audits of medical documentation to ensure the documentation adequately supports and reflects the level of service, severity of illness, risk of mortality, and that documentation is complete and accurate. Ensure clinical documentation is billed in accordance with the appropriate third party regulations and/or standards. · Keep current on all Medicare Part B regulations, guidance documents and bulletins. · Prepare written reports of the results of the audits, including recommendations for improvement and compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. · Participates in developing and maintaining Compliance Audit Standards. · Conduct state-specific legal research. · May manage multiple audits and collaborate across multiple business segments. · Develop documents and assist in implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with third-party requirements and to minimize corporate risk. · Educate Medicare and Medicaid business partners on Medicare and Medicaid requirements as needed · Monitor changes in requirements to mitigate risks and achieve compliance. Requirements: · 2+ years of background in compliance, developing and conducting audits in a healthcare or managed care environment. · 2+ years of background providing written and oral reports of audit observations and findings. · Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, HCPCs, and CPT classifications and reimbursement methodologies. · Certified as a Health Info Technician or Coding Professional is required (RHIA, RHIT, CHDA, CDIP, CEMC, CPMA, CPCO, CCS-P and CPC) Licensed in a clinical discipline a plus but not required. · Data managerial experience for report writing and tracking. · Excellent verbal and writing expertise with strong issue solving abilities · Previous background using computerized systems for health information storage and retrieval.
