Description:
AIDS Arms, Inc. is seeking a chief operating officer (COO) who would provide operational management of its 3 facilities, business, details, and operations support systems. Begun in 1986, we are the largest HIV/AIDS nonprofit organization in North Texas with a current operating budget of over $10 million and 95 full-time employees. Our programs served over 14,000 patients and/or clients in 2011 located throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Current programs include HIV/STD testing and prevention, case management, outpatient medical care, substance abuse treatment, mental health counseling, clinical research, and community outreach. Employees are medical and psychosocial professionals from all levels. Reporting to the chief executive officer, this position of agency leadership is responsible for managing Details Technology, Facilities Management, Continuous Quality Improvement, Human Resources, and Clinic Administration. The position plays a key role in facilitating the Agencys strategic planning and reporting efforts. The position requires the following min attributes: A masters degree in health care administration, business administration, or related field, and significant experience working in non-profit, multiple location, preferably health-related organization. A successful candidate must have a min of 5 yrs experience managing and supervising professional-level employees. Experience working with disenfranchised populations, social service programs, and community-based organizations is also an important attribute. The candidate must have excellent management and project management skills, particularly in setting expectations, managing conflicting priorities, and producing results. A working knowledge of HIPAA, healthcare reform, Meaningful Use incentives, and other public health strategies and policies is preferred. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, particularly in written and verbal communications; working knowledge of electronic details systems such as electronic medical records, Microsoft Office software, and web-based applications; demonstrated sensitivity, appreciation, and enthusiasm for cultural diversity in professions, perspectives, and backgrounds of employees, partner organizations and clients; and ability to quickly learn, adapt, and develop as the Agency grows and evolves.
